About Mira

Mira is a strength coach for people losing weight on a GLP-1. It exists because “make sure you lift weights” is advice a lot of people are given once, in a short appointment, with no explanation of what that means on a Tuesday evening when your appetite is gone and you have never picked up a dumbbell.

What we are trying to get right

The scale is the medication’s job. Ours is the part the scale cannot see, which is why nothing in this product celebrates a weight number or shows you one on a dashboard. Progress here is reps, load, form quality and how many weeks in a row you turned up.

Sessions are about fifteen minutes and start at bodyweight, because the failure mode we care about is not a plan that is too easy — it is a plan you quietly stop doing in week three. On a suppressed appetite, the ambitious version is usually the first thing a flat day takes out.

What we will not say

This is a wellness product, not a medical one, and the line between those is one we enforce in the build rather than in a style guide. Copy that claims to treat, prevent or reverse anything fails the build. So does anything that hands you a risk score or a label about your body. Decisions about your medication belong with your healthcare provider, and there is no version of this site that pretends otherwise.

The 216 guides in the library follow the same rule: every statistic links to the study or guideline it came from, on a host you can actually open. The sourcing process is written up in full, including the times it caught us getting something wrong.

Who builds this

Mira is made by a small team that also builds the two products below. We are naming them because the first is inside Mira and you should know that, and because the second would otherwise turn up as an unexplained link somewhere and look like something it is not.

KinesteX Developer SDK

A motion-tracking SDK that fitness and wellness apps license for camera-based rep counting and movement analysis, with the pose processing running on the user’s own device.

Same team, and it is the technology inside Mira’s form check. If you have wondered who wrote the part that watches your squats, this is the answer — the mechanics are explained on our how-it-works page.

Dizzout Consumer app

An iOS and Android app for motion sickness that plays calibrated audio through headphones instead of using medication. There are a few free tools on the site as well, including a seat-finder for planes, trains and boats.

Same team, unrelated product. It has nothing to do with GLP-1 medications or strength training, and we make no claim here about what it does — it is listed because we would rather you learn we build it from us than find out some other way.

Getting in touch

If you find a claim on this site that does not hold up, tell us at hello@mymira.fit and we will fix it on every page it appears on, which is what we have done the previous three times. Privacy and data requests go to privacy@mymira.fit, though deletion you can do yourself without waiting for us.

The best way to understand what Mira does is three minutes with it. The assessment is free, needs no card, and does not start a trial.
